Meet Rebecca Prozan

Founder & CEO | Public Affairs Expert | Community Champion

Rebecca Prozan brings over two decades of experience across the highest levels of local government, criminal justice, state policy, and public affairs. Her career has spanned City Hall, the courtroom, the campaign trail, and the boardrooms of Silicon Valley. With every chapter, she has built coalitions, shaped policy, and delivered results with integrity and purpose.

Prior to launching Prozan Strategies, Rebecca served as Director of West Region Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google, where she led a team responsible for state and local government relations across 11 western states. From negotiating land use approvals to overseeing major investments like Google’s $1 billion Bay Area housing initiative, she helped guide transformative projects that balanced innovation with community impact. She also spearheaded initiatives like Google’s Civic Fellows program and the Google Community Space—demonstrating her commitment to public-private partnerships that drive solutions.

Before her tenure in tech, Rebecca was a San Francisco Assistant District Attorney, where she served as Community Relations Director, Neighborhood Prosecutor, and Trial Attorney. She developed anti-human trafficking campaigns, launched community advisory councils, and tackled quality-of-life crimes in neighborhoods across the city.

Her public service career began in City Hall, serving as Special Assistant to Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr., a Recreation and Park Commissioner, and a Legislative Aide to Supervisor Bevan Dufty. Additionally, in a notable chapter of political history, Rebecca managed former Vice President Kamala Harris’ first campaign for District Attorney.

Beyond her resume, Rebecca is deeply rooted in community advocacy. She chairs the board of sf.citi, serves on the board of the Victory Institute, and has been honored as Redwood City Businesswoman of the Year and Community Grand Marshal of San Francisco Pride. She holds a JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and a BA in Politics from UC Santa Cruz. Rebecca is also a licensed member of the California State Bar.
